Leah's 9 months!

Yesterday was Leah's 9 month birthday!!!!! Wow, I can't believe she's already 9 months. It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital all tight wrapped in her little hospital receiving blanket. Now at this very moment...she's destroying Nate's little zoo that took him ten minutes to set up. LOL! Anyhow, I took Leah in for her 9 month wellbaby visit and she had the usual...shots, measurements, and full baby checkup. She barely flinched when she got her shot...not one tear!!! She weighed 17 lbs 3 oz and measured in at 28 1/2 inches, which is funny because Nate was 18 lbs 10 oz and 29 1/2 inches at nine months, but Leah is way chubbier. I guess it's that extra inch that made him look like a string bean or maybe girls are just rounder. :) The rest of the checkup went well. Leah has two smiles....joker face or one-sided. However, the one-sided smile is hard to catch on camera. I'll try to catch that smile in action soon, but here's two joker face smiles. :)

Green-eyed monster!!!

One second it's sweet boy, Nate, and the next second it's the green-eyed monster! Of course, he's the sweetest little monster. Here's some pics of Nate with a cup of pudding. BTW - Nate always makes a huge mess with his pudding. ALWAYS!!!!! Anyways, I liked these pictures because the show off his greenish eyes (I love green eyes!).

Jensen/Hanson genes.....

Back in the day I used to daydream about my future children with Ty. I pictured little baby versions of us running around. Lucky us, because we got even better versions of us with Nate and Leah. Way cuter, funnier, and smarter than Ty and I could ever be!!!! (Sorry Ty....I still think you're the best catch though!) I'm bias but I think God picked out our best features and mixed them all together to make Nate and Leah.

Having said that....I also believe that our kids got some of our worst personality traits. Like...did you know that I don't require a lot of sleep? Well neither do Nate and Leah!!! Lucky me!!!! :( Oh and did you know that Ty and I are two of the most stubborn people I know? Yep...that's right....both of my kids have stubborn x 2!!!!! Oh yeah...did I mention that Ty's nickname for me is "Roll a Day"? Yeah....Leah should be called "Pack of wipies a day"! She must have inherited my digestive tract. (BTW....Ty, we need to by stock in Charmin, because people are always going to need toilet paper!). Here's something we all know....I'm LOUD!!!! Therefore....Nate and Leah are loud! No surprise here....my kids are hyper! Wonder where they got that from?! My favorite joke these days is "How am I going to get my 3 year old son to listen when I can't get my 29 year old husband to listen?". Like father..like son.

I must sound awful complaining about my children but I'm really just taking the blame for all of their faults. Who can blame them when it's in their genetic makeup? Speaking of genetic makeups...my kids have inherited so many wonderful traits besides good looks. :) Nate is extremely outgoing, friendly, and warm to anyone he meets. He is very compassionate and loving. A born leader (just like his daddy) and extremely determined. Those are just a few of Nate's good traits, but I'll stop bragging on him for now. Then there's Leah a.k.a. Little Lady, wow....she's a little spitfire....very strong willed! She's my little snuggler and loves to give hugs. Although..she's very particular with whom she shares her affections. I can already tell that she is sensitive which we could definitely use a little more of that around our house with two boys and a mean mommy! :) That's what I gathered from Leah in the short 8 1/2 months that she's blessed us with her presence (minus her months of COLIC!).

Anyhow, I guess my point is that I use to daydream of what my children were going to look like but never what they were going to be like. Isn't that funny? Because their personalities are what make them who they are...not their looks...
Lucky for us though....both of our kids got hooked up in the Jensen/Hanson gene pool!!!! Looks and personality if I do say so myself!!!! I'm way to proud!!!!!
(P.S. I failed to mention that Ty and I both are weird, therefore, our children are destined to be weird! At least we're nice/funny weird and not creepy weird!)

Chubbers

What do most women do when they come across a "fat picture"? You know the ones that catch a bad angle and make you look chubby. We chunk them!!!!! No pun intended. :) We delete it! Who wants a picture that makes them look chubby?! I sure don't, but if I capture one of Leah looking chubby.......I frame it! I think Leah looks cutest in her "chubby" pictures. :) So here is Lee Lee's latest "chubby" picture.

Cheap entertainment...

There's no reason for me to buy this child any toys, because she's obsessed with plastic and paper. Soooooo, I just give her wrappers to play with! I know...I know...I'm an awesome mom. :) I kid! Anyhow, at least it's cheap.....

Breakdancing Boy

Here's Nate breakdancing to the live performance of "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas from the American Idol finale. He really gets into it, but this is a very tame dance performance for Nate. He started this new hobby on Cinco De Mayo at a church dinner in front of everyone. Random, I know. :) I guess Gloria Estefan's song "Come on Everybody" lit the fire!!!!

Nate & Leah

Little Lady
Muscle Man
(He's into push-ups right now.)

Lizards Love Quarrel

The other day I was outside sweeping when I came across two ticked off lizards. At first I thought they were going to attack me, but I soon realized I wasn't the cause for all the commotion (apparently they aren't into blondes!). They were fighting over some lady lizard. She must have been quite a catch because these two lizards were in a all out brawl!!!!!

The would chase eachother from bush to bush....up the column....bite one another....and hiss!!!!! Bizarre!!!

Here we have the winner!!!! The other lizard soon took off because he couldn't handle his heavyweight opponent. "Victorious"!

A few of the spectators..

....and that's my documentation of the "Lizards Love Quarrel". In case any of ya'll were wondering what I do in my spare time. Spare time meaning that my two kids are napping at the same time, which happens as often as a lunar eclipse!!!!!
